Mother’s Day is a time to appreciate the mothers in our lives — whether they be our birth mothers, chosen family, mentors, teachers, or wise friends. They’re there for us through everything — guiding us through life’s many struggles and celebrations, taking care of us when we’re sick, advising when we don’t know the way, and showing us how to live kindly and compassionately.
There are so many ways to show love for those who have shown us love. We write letters, draw cards, gather wildflowers for bouquets, cook delicious meals, have virtual dinners and hangouts… this list could go on and on.
We at Shrub Farm HQ are fans of everything on that list. But of course, we love to spread the shrub love whenever we can, so we’ve put together a list of everything you need to tell the mamas in your life how special they are (and how much they deserve a special drink or a creative culinary treat).
Shrub strikes the perfect balance between healthy and indulgent. We use a raw apple cider vinegar for the base, so it’s full of probiotics and prebiotics and supports digestive health. Our apples are grown in Eastern Washington and are juicy, golden, and seriously delicious. When we infuse it with whole fruits, herbs, and spices, it becomes an invigorating mixer for cocktails and mocktails alike. For the Zero-Waste Warrior
The Zero-Waste Warrior: she’s a local food hero. She brings her own jars to the store and her reusable bags seem like an extension of herself. She makes her own cheese and bikes even in the rain. She’s an advocate, and politicians fear and admire her tireless lobbying for increased environmental protection.
She’s awesome, and she deserves a gift to match — a bright, springy vinaigrette that is full of local herbs and shrubs straight from the heart of Cascadia!
What you’ll need:
- Cascade Sampler Pack
- Bundle of local herbs (maybe foraged from your garden!)
Happy Mother’s Day. We hope you take this time to nourish yourself as well as the ones who nourish you!
