Happy New Year, everybody! We hope your holidays were filled with joy, love, good food and drink, and maybe an outdoor adventure or two - and that you've managed to make some new traditions that made this time extra meaningful.
Speaking of new traditions, we're starting off the year with Dry January. What exactly is Dry January? It's a chance to start a new year on a sober foot - basically, you commit to abstaining from alcohol for the whole month.
There are a number of reasons people choose to do this. For one, stopping drinking for a little while can be a major reset for your health. It can improve sleep, elevate your mood, and help your skin glow. Not only that, it can support your mental and emotional health.
Some try it out of pure curiosity - what is life without drinking like?
Turns out, it can be pretty delicious. It can also be challenging, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?! Luckily, there are some things you can do to set yourself up for success. An accountability buddy can be super helpful, as is a happy hour replacement.
You don't need to give up all the fun of home bartending - in fact, Dry January is a chance to get even more creative. We've got three mocktails that deserve a seat at the table all year round!
Hibiscus Spritz
To take a tropical vacation - even in the middle of the winter - we recommend the simple and delicious Hibiscus Spritz. Heart-healthy properties, a deep magenta color, and a sweet-and-sour flavor make this the perfect gateway drink in Dry January.
Non-Alcoholic Mojito with Pure Apple Cider Vinegar
If you're ready to break out the muddler and get a little fancy, let's make the Non-Alcoholic Mojito with Pure Apple Cider Vinegar. It sounds complicated, but all you need are some bartending essentials like mint and lime to get the party started. No added sugar, probiotics galore, and seriously bright flavor.
DIY Ginger Beer
And last but not least, we have this fan favorite DIY Ginger Beer. Replace your ginger ale or soda with this low-sugar, high-flavor alternative! It's great any time of day, but we particularly love it for a spicy lil happy hour!
Now pop the (non-alcoholic) bubbly and let's get started! Will you be doing Dry January this year? If so, let us know what creative concoctions you come up with!
