Shrub Farm is incredibly proud to announce that our Ginger and Hawaiian Chili Shrub is a finalist for the 2020 Good Food Awards. We’re honored and humbled to be nominated among 24 extraordinary craftspeople in the Best Elixir category.
The Good Food Awards are exactly what they sound like. Per their website:
“The Good Food Awards celebrate the kind of food we all want to eat: tasty, authentic and responsible. The Good Food Awards Seal, found on winning products, assures consumers they have found something exceptionally delicious that also supports sustainability and social good.”
Our Ginger and Hawaiian Chili is representative of all that we value here at Shrub Farm. The raw apple cider vinegar that serves as the base is sourced from Washington State organic growers and has a 20% more powerful living culture than other brands, making it good for sustainable agriculture and good for your digestion. We infuse the vinegar with whole ginger and Hawaiian chili, two ingredients that reflect our story; Shrub Farm began on Maui in 2016.
But perhaps the thing we’re most proud of? In order to be considered for a Good Food Award, an elixir must be “made by a crafter that is an upstanding member of the good food community, oriented toward growing their business in harmony with a better food system.” Every step we take towards growing as a business is done with the intent of best serving our local community as well as the world we all share. Whether it’s delivering orders to the post office on E-bike, giving back to organizations that support marine life, or sharing the shrub love at farmers markets across Washington, everything we do is on behalf of a better food system.
We’ll find out on January 17, 2020 if we win the Good Food Award. Thank you so much for your continued support on this wonderful, wild journey!
