Shiso is purple in color and has a wide leaf somewhat similar in appearance to mint or basil.
What does it taste like? It has a hint of basil and plum, it's herby, minty and with a hint of spiciness. We dry it first for a more concentrated flavor. Combined with the tartness of the lemon and the lime juice you end up with a unique subtle flavor that shines in creative cocktails, mocktails and other culinary creations. A favorite at the weekend markets.
